why obsidian is disabled in minecraft server?

    Obsidian is currently banned in the Creative world as a counter measure for building nether portals. Of course, it's really easy to get around this limitation, so we are looking into ways of removing this limitation.

    not an expert in minecraft modding but i'm pretty sure the nether portal is its own material that you can kill that instead.
