The forums don't seem to be particularly active, with only a few posts a day. Perhaps we should add a few more sections to try and breath a little more life on these forums?

My suggestion: We add a debate section, which hosts weekly debates. Every week a moderator chooses a new topic/discussion, and locks the previous thread. To actually encourage debate it the topic should be on something without a clear cut consensus, or that's controversial.

A few of the more controversial examples off the top of my head are:

    1. Islam
    2. Cannabis legalization
    3. Abortion
    4. Universal Income
    5. Affirmative Action
    6. Compulsory Vaccination
    7. Capitalism Vs. Socialism

Of course some topics shouldn't be brought up, since they're controversial enough that they might cause a complete shit storm. I'm looking at you, Islam, Capitalism Vs. Socialism, and Affirmative Action.

The real question is if we have faith that our community is able to keep things civil. While not all topics have to be controversial, the ones that'll get the most debate usually are.

What do you guys think? Are there better ways to make the forums more active?

I think we should actively tell people in the servers to join the forum, maybe by advertising it whenever someone joins the server.

I do not believe we need a large amount of traffic on these forums. As moderators, we use the forums for reporting players and accepting applications, and use a Trello for everything else. The Steam group does the best job of keeping our community together, since its the most accessible of all of our platforms.
